Self-Worth

The Big One: Self Worth

In my experience as a Life Coach and a Paramedic, deep self-worth is the foundation of building your life on purpose.

Self-worth is the intrinsic value we assign to ourselves, independent of external validation or achievements. It is the deep-rooted belief that we are worthy by virtue of our existence.

Whilst self-worth is closely related to self-esteem, which refers to our overall evaluation of ourselves, self-worth runs deeper, transcending transient achievements and feelings of success or failure.

The Impact of Self-Worth

Our level of self-worth influences our lives. It influences how we perceive ourselves, our relationships and our ability to pursue our goals with confidence.

Low self-worth can manifest in our lives in a variety of ways including:

·      Self-Doubt

·      Perfectionism

·      People-Pleasing

·      Fear of Failure

Cultivating Self-Worth

Self-worth is not something you are either born with or born without, it is a skill which can be nurtured over time. Some strategies we utilise through coaching include:

 ·      Practicing Self-Compassion

·      Identifying your values

·      Setting Boundaries

·      Celebrating your achievements

·      Challenging limiting beliefs and negative thought loops

·      Using evidence seeking strategies with a coach to reframe how you view yourself.

Embrace Your Worth

Cultivating self-worth is a transformative journey that requires patience, self-awareness and practice.

By prioritising self-compassion and living authentically, in alignment with your values, your self-worth will grow and your sense of worthiness will become stronger as you practice believing in yourself.

As your coach it is my role to show you how you can learn to believe that YOU are deserving of love, respect, joy, fulfilment and connections simply because you exist and you ARE.
